As many of you may or may not know an end of an era as come to pass at Disneyland After 29 years the Mouse we come to call Mickey will cease the production of Disney Dollars this actually officially took place on May 14TH of this year, This is deffinitley A collectors market that covers all age groups men and woman alike, i have just now Started getting serious about collecting these, prices are still low so if your thinking about starting a collection of your own now is the right time, E-bay has just a ton i will Posting my examples as they come in with a little history on each one as well Disney Dollar 2007 Pirates of the Caribbean: Flying Dutchman back PCGS 66PPQ One of the more common ones that i have found on ebay, But still In a decent grade, Remember Condition is everything!
Just curious, are they considered real legal tender in a way? Or are they only a kind of souvenir that you buy kind of thing?
Yes, but only at Disney land parks and related stores, just dont try buying a slushy at 7-11 with one..LOL
Does Disney need permission to produce these though? I mean the whole trading in USD for DD seems like creating USD currency. Imagine trading in $100 USD for $100 DD, to get back your $100 you would have to trade in your DD. Outside of the parks, yes. Inside of the parks, they are legal tender, from what I understand.
Both PCGS and PMG slab these, as i said earlier i will be posting more of mine as they come in but invite everybody to post as well
Great notes i have a few coming in from the bay that i will be posting in the Next few days also most will be available for viewing at my website: www.mpcman.com
I actually have two...LOL mpcman.com (just started that a couple of weeks ago, so its a little raw, but i have alot of good inventory there also on ebid.net (mpcusa) store i have had that one several years but only recently got more inventory there so its up and going if you want to check it out
Just got this in todays mail, im trying something new taking pics on my I-phone and transfering those images have done that with larger items and its worked well going to try it here if it doesnt come out good i will repost via scanner
Are the prices on these notes shooting up in value?? What are they typically selling for in unc?? Are the $5 & $10 notes worth more than the $1 notes?? Here is an eBay lot that sold for $228 can anyone tell me why?????? A big thanks in advance
all those notes you have listed above are on the rarer more expensive side i have seen them in graded holders for $$$ by them selves and except for the wavy lines on the $10 the margins look really good To answer your additional questions, heres the tricky part unc and mint are two different things if they have been handled at all or have waves in the margin i would not consider them either though some do, as far as what there selling for generally common issues in what i consider mint are between $20 and $25 super common around $12 but here again its all about how rare the issue is which Determines price. for sure i would say that higher denominations are worth more i think that,s a given in the MPC word higher denominations always demand a premium, i know they have a $50 Disney Dollar but have not seen one on ebay yet, saw them on a couple web sites though demanding over $4,000 plus another thing to mention collectors are in to low serial numbers you will notice this allot on listings 4- digit or less seems to pay more, hope this helps, will be posting some more when they come in
