No wonder Dollar Store and Dollar General are going to start closing stores.

Who the hell is going to show up to a store that is based on a Dollar?

I might buy the closed stores and rename them "The 99 Cent And No Change Back Store".

Just what I want, to walk around with a bunch of $1 coins. With what they're spending, they're not going to care about the peanuts that move would save.

I'm all for eliminating the penny, though.

It is amusing how history repeats itself. Rampant inflation ( worse than ours) caused non-precious currency to basically cease in the Roman empire, after a bunch of failed, short-lived reforms.

Valerian: "My coinage is 5% silver." Shapur of Persia:"Mine is 95%, and kneel, footstool!" (Shapur captured Valerian, and made him taxidermy, if some Christian chroniclers are to be believed).

I wouldn't call tens of millions peanuts. The worst case scenario you'd have to carry 4 dollar coins.

I like having the $1 bill. It's still being used by many.

Again, that screws with my business plan.

I have had enough of this social media attack on my business plan by you guys.

My lawyer will be forwarding a scary "Stop It!" letter to all of you.

Me and the girls want to keep the paper dollar. Hard to keep the
dollar coins under the garter belt. Makes for a long night. Just sayin'.

If we want to save money as a country, I would offer a VERY long list of what to quit spending on before getting to discussing the paper dollar. The government quit using silver in coinage to save money. Did that help? There are so many programs that are stupid to fund. Dismiss those first. "We" (aka government) have to stop our current spending habits.

We look $1 fine. $2 would be a stretch and the
"change makers " do hinder some money making views and opportunities. Again, just saying.

I thought the penny was eliminated 248 years ago. Didn't we fight a war over it?

In the West, we have 99 Cent stores which changed their flagship price to 99.99 cents and I have seen them with items up to $99.99. They seem to be going strong

Honestly, eliminate the paper dollar, circulate dollar coins and introduce a $5 coin. The cent should go, a long with the nickel, and round to the nearest $0.10
