Elagabalus provincial with mysterious reverse

I do believe this is a provincial Eastern issue of Elagabalus, due to what appears to be Greek text on the reverse.


Obv: Laureate head right.
Rev: mystery motif surrounded by mystery Greek text
Diam: 16mm

I scrolled through a million and one thumnails on Wildwinds but was unable to find something that really matched. At one point I thought snakes, but that's not right.
I can't really make heads or tails of this reverse, even though it's really decently clear.

I rotated the reverse about 60 degrees. it looks like a tripod to me, and my old eyes see either Marcianopolis or Hadrianopolis inscribed on the reverse.

 

Thank you! I'll go in that direction. With an idea in mind for the reverse, life gets a lot easier...
