Has anyone had any luck with a bank having any Eisenhower Dollars? All my bank seems to have are the Sac. Gold dollars.

Personally, no bank that I have asked has any, but many members here have, so I'll let them chime in.

They are one of those things that only come in occasionally. Banks don't order them or really even want them - from experience my credit unions get them from convenience stores like 7-11 etc. People who are desperate for ciggies, beer etc will spend stuff they have been holding on to for awhile. I have gone whole months without finding any at the credit unions and then they come out in droves, sometimes a couple of hundred worth of them.

I got a box of nickels at my bank on Friday of last week. I always ask if they have any loose dollars. One teller had about 10 IKEs. I didn't take them from her b/c of a bad case of verdigris. I didn't want to clean them or mess with them. They have had IKEs previously. They are happy to give them to me. I think it makes the end-of-day a bit easier for them.

It's seldom and simply by chance when I have been able to get some.

I average around $50 a week found, with rare larger hoards of $200+ worth maybe 5-7 times a year. I once stumbled upon $1350 sitting at a bank, that was fun.

I got a few hundred over the last few years at my credit union.

Have never found any at either local branch of my CU, and have been checking periodically for years.

One of the tellers at one of my credit unions called me this afternoon and has a bunch waiting for my clutches in the morrow.

I just picked up 5 at a local bank. I asked if they have any silver halves, and they pull out 5 ikes. I'm like "OOH GIMME THOSE!!" :D

Today while circling back to get more CWR halves the teller said do you want dollars too?

    Large ones?

Yup - 18 of them - all clad

But now, seriously with all the hoopla of most banks not having them, it felt like such a dud to finally get some.

I have found about 1000 in the last couple years. The most at once was about 300.

Just the fact that Ikes are barely circulated and may not even be in circulation in 30 years. They have slight premiums on them as it is now, too.

I got $32 for the price of $22 a week ago from my bank. The lady told me she had $22 worth, and proceeded to hand over a full roll plus an envelope with 12 more. I guess she thought the roll was only $10, it wasnt until i was transferring them to my little hoard that i noticed her miscount.

I have only found 13 over the last 4 months, but I did find someone on Craigslist that is going to sell me 63 for 1.05 each. The only reason that I am buying for 1.05 each is because I am going to use them as tips on my honeymoon in the fall.

I have always asked for "IKE'S" and only receive a couple here and there but friday I got 450 cwr 50 cents and 110 Ikes I don't know where to get rid of the Ike's I don't want but I don't want to take them to the bank and I'm still a newbie so most people here (as I have noticed) won't buy from a newbie, which I don't blame them. I got every year and mint mark on the Ike's except the 1973's I am so excited as I have searched for years to only fill in about 4 spots until this week.

Good luck in finding what you all want and need

I would take your Ike's. I'm in eastern Idaho and get down to Utah once in a while.
