Has anyone here ever tried to CRH Eisenhower Dollar coin bags ($1,000 value)? I know I can get loose ones from tellers from their trays, but has anyone asked their bank and/or credit union to obtain a $1,000 bag of Eisenhowers from the Fed Reserve branches, Loomis, or Brinks?

Most banks won't be able to get them because the current dollar coins are the smaller size Sac and Prez type.

In the "post your results" master thread, I've seen a few people report back on searching $1,000 in Ikes - a few times they pulled a Morgan or Peace dollar out, maybe a 40% Ike or a low-mintage date like 1973. I guess it all depends on whether the bank has a supply of them somewhere. If they did, they'd probably be thrilled to get rid of them.

They are pretty scarce to find even in single numbers in a bank. Sometimes I can come across $300-400 worth that usually don't stay in the bank very long as there are a lot of people that ask for them, and a lot fewer coins available at face value.

Every bank I've asked can't get them.

I'd buy a bag to spend around town just to see the look on peoples faces.

They are hard to get, most banks do not get bags of them because their machines dont take them anymore.

Uncle says that they don't order them, never did. I see how scarce it is.
