    I saw an ad for these today stating that these coins were very limited compared to the other 71 dollar coins. They were selling them for 15 bucks each. Anyone hear of this???? :confused:

    They are limited compared to the clad '71's but they are hardly rare coins.

    2.6 million silver clad UNC, and 4.2 million silver clad proofs.

    Check your Red Book for mintages. Sounds like marketing strategy for moving Ikes. 15 bucks is a lot, almost double what I would pay. Find a better deal or dealer.

    I love my set of Ikes. Last of the large dollars coins.

    Keep on Collecting!!!

    Just so we're clear, the mintages for '71 Ikes are as follows:

    71-P -> 47,799,000
    71-D -> 68,587,424
    71-S UNC -> 2,603,296
    71-S Proof -> 4,265,234

    Now if you could get ahold of a 1968 Proof, then you'd have something!!
