Hello, It has been quite a while since I have last posted in the CoinTalk forums, but hoping some folks here can help me. I'm doing some deep dive learning research on Edward the Confessor's PACX Type coinage and trying to locate a particular photo, description, and potential provenance of a certain PACX short cross reverse penny with the PAXX spelling. This particular coin has been cited in Pagan's BNJ Vol. 81 (2011) article “THE PACX TYPE OF EDWARD THE CONFESSOR" as was sold in SPINK's Auction No. 11, 1980 (October 8/9, 1980), Lot 901. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the SPINK No. 11 1980 catalogue. Hoping someone here may one and can drop a photo/picture. Thanks in advance.
The coin is listed in North's English Hammered Coinage, as #813, but it's noted as "rarely", and there is no picture of it.
Appreciate the response, but I’m looking for the specific PAXX penny cited in SPINKs 180 Auction. North provides a generic reference of the issue.
