There is course entitled "Coin Conservation, Authentication, and Grading" at the ANA National Money Show in Portland OR (March 10-12). Instructor is Brian Silliman.

I am very interested in taking at least one formal course this year.

Can anyone comment on this offering ? Any comments on other courses ?

Brian Silliman knows his stuff. He wrote an article - Counterfeit Q&A - that was published in the November 2008 Numismatist. You can read the article here.

You should consider attending the ANA Summer Seminar this summer. Registration opens soon.

I don't have a boatload of money and I will be attending Summer Seminar this summer. Then again I live only 6 or 7 miles from ANA headquarters. :smile
