eBay isn't sooo bad. After all, I would never be able to get these coins locally, and there are few online retailers that offer the prices I picked these up at for. Here they are: 1938-D PCGS MS66 Buffalo Nickel - $37.00 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110467685274&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT 1980-S PCGS PR69DCAM SBA Dollar (not my fav, but needed for the 20th century type set :high5 - $10.40 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120504377643&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT ^^$7 combined shipping for above 2 coins^^ 1941 PCGS MS65 Washington Quarter - $18.51 (beauty at a super price!) http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350292682696&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT 1943-D NGC MS66 Mercury Dime - $24.51 http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120505659487&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT ^^$4 combined shipping for above 2 coins^^ I got pretty fair prices for all the coins I got. If anything, I got really good deals. I paid $101.42 for the coins (with shipping) and Numismedia values them at $171.50. I can't wait for them to come in (of course), and they'll make great additions to my 20th century type set which already includes: 1939 MS66RD Wheat Cent 1943-S MS66 Steel Wheat Cent 1974-S PR69DCAM Jefferson Nickel Let me know what you think :hammer:
Your links are coming up with ROVER embedded in the link. Some folks say this means you are being paid for click throughs. If this is true, the moderators need to delete your post and possibly suspend your account. >> found on Google: PS: Of course make sure the eBay rover link is cloaked, ... link is so that eBay doesn't think your spamming their link all over the place >> /edit to add: the intermediate link with the ROVER embedding: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...em&item=110467685274&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Or, much more likely, the forum is getting paid for them. If you go back to other threads, I believe that you will find that ALL of them have the same link in them. It is not at all limited to CoinKeeper.
Yup, my link in the Open forum has it too. He'd get paid with impressions (views/clicks) if he had a website, and put the links in the website. Even then, he wouldn't link to an already-purchased item, it would usually link to a section/search function of certain items. I would know, because I am part of the eBay Partner Network but as I said, you can only do it if you own a website and put the links on the website that you own and that has been approved. edit: anyway, looks like some pretty good deals there. As long as the coins look good in hand too
If this is true, my mistake, my apologies. Looks like it is true. Oops. All I can say is I'm sorry. Looks like you got some good deals there, 35% back of Numismedia is often a very good deal.
You are correct though Red. The links in my site do have "rover" in them. and the link I made on the PCGS forum does NOT have it in it, just a direct link. Perhaps something Peter implemented?
Okay - prices look okay to me. And I know what you mean - there are certain coins my local dealer will just never have. So either other online dealers or Ebay. Now my big question is - Why a proof coin with all the business strikes? Just curious on this.
Comparing yours to Heritage prices, you did; 1938-D PCGS MS66 Buffalo Nickel - $37.00 Very good 1980-S PCGS PR69DCAM SBA Dollar - $10.40 OK 1941 PCGS MS65 Washington Quarter - $18.51 Good 1943-D NGC MS66 Mercury Dime - $24.51 Fair
Not sure if this is a dumb question, but doesn't it cost ~$30 to get a coin certified by PCGS? If so, why would anybody spend the money to get a $10 coin certified?
Lots of reasons - (1) to fill out an order, (2) mass submission hoping for a higher grade(cheaper than $30 per coin), (3) not knowing what they are doing.
You got some good buys there. Good value for the bucks. Q; what does this mean ? Item specifics - Not LTS US Coins
First off, not it does not cost $30 to get it certified. If you (or I) is doing one coin at a time or more expensive coin, we may pay that much, but not the big boys. In lots of 100+ NGC rates is $7 to $8 and the last I heard for sure PCGS was similar.
