If you win a item using their software, do you still check out through ebay and earn ebay bucks? and do you just pay their fee seperately

The sniping programs have nothing to do with the eBay checkout process.

The only thing they do is stick a bid in for you. The rest of eBay operates just like when you did the bidding. I assume when you say pay "them separately" you mean the sniping software. I use GavelSnipe and they are free. However, the ones I have seen that charge charge for each snipe. They would have to charge you separately since you could use 100 snipes and not win a thing.

Most pay per snipe programs i have seen, and the one i use, only charge per winning snipe. So, i pay like a nickel per winning snipe. Cheap at twice the price.

Op, i agree, sniping is just automated bidding for you. Nothing else changes.

I use free sniping software and won maybe 10 auctions so far using it. (I don't buy a lot of coins). Works great for me. Nothing about eBay changes except you win more for less money!

Goofbid is popular, its free and seems to be 99% reliable, as others say its totally separate to eBay. Basically you tell the proxy bidding program your login and password then set your 'snipes', the system then logs in as you when the time comes, bids then logs out. You still have to pay etc.

Be aware though, eBay do not recommend giving your PW and username to anyone, unlikely to be an issue with the companies listed above but its something you should be aware of before joining one of them.

And they also used to say that Paypal was a scam and that no one should use it. People used it anyway it made money so ebay bought it, and tried to make its use manditory.

I don't see why you need a sniping program. When you place an initial bid with Ebay you have the option of "increasing" your bid, which only means you put in the maximum you are willing to pay for that item and if nobody surpasses it with their bids you win whatever the end bid is anywhere up to your maximum bid. If someone bids more than your max, you lose anyway. I've used it a few times on coins I could stay up until 2 or 3am and it works fine.

Snipe programs are useful to try and sneak in a bid without giving other bidders a chance to think about increasing their bid.

I was bidding on a large lot of silver proof sets today. The bid was at $845 and about 20 seconds from the end, I placed a bid of $911. I was the high bidder until 2 seconds before the close where I got outbid and the lot sold for $921. I actually valued the lot at an absolute minimum of $950 and maybe I should have bid $950. But when I got outbid with only two seconds left, I didn't have a chance to reconsider what I was willing to pay and increase my bid.

Snipe programs are sometimes successful because not everyone enters the absolute highest amount they are willing to pay until they get outbid by someone else.

My snipes keep failing to execute. I keep getting this message Unable to bypass eBay PIN or PayPal Security Key.

 Why would a snipe program be doing anything with PayPal?

I would never use a sniper program. My advice: Don't get married to a coin. I put in my top bid with about 7 or 8 seconds left. If I get sniped... I could care less. I don't get caught up in absolutely having to win. Although I like when my buyers do! They can fight it out all they want!

What you are describing is sniping sir, but i do not have to worry about when the auction ends. I set one bid and walk away. Sniping is just a way of doing that at the last second.

The biggest advantage to using a sniping program is that the competition doesn't know you're interested until it is too late. It isn't necessary to place a bid higher than what you would want to pay. When you're well-camouflaged, a .223 can do the job just as easily as a 30/06.

When I was using Bidnapper, I was placing as many as 50 bids a week. It's a lot easier to let the sniping program manage them.

Plus you can cancel a snipe. I have done that when i get too lucky with other auctions.

Who the heck has time to watch auctions?

I`ve used Bidnapper and Goofbid for free but Goofbid kept failing to work, when I complained they said it was a free service.
I used JustSnipe 5 free bids per week which never let me down so now I pay $5 per month which is cheaper than one beer in the pub here.
I get Unlimited Snipes and its a win win situation. very pleased.
