In case anyone has to send money to include ebay fees, like for a refund past 60 days for the 2.9% rate plus 30 cents.

    New amount = old amount + 30 cents/.971

Has anyone used the automatic refund link? If so, they shouldnt charge the fee just because the person recieving the funds has a premier/merchent account. Its a refund right?

That doesn't work. You can't include the 30 cents in any percentages because its a flat fee. You're making it too complicated.

On $100, by your formula it would come to 103.30 when its really 103.20.

Take the original amount * 2.9% and add .30. then add that to the original amount.

You only have to worry about that after 60 days. Before 60 days, the recipient of the refund does not get charged fees and the sender gets thiers back.

sorry for the confusion. Actually its
    New amount = (old amount + 30 cents)/.971

say someone paid you 48$, you would have to pay them (48.30)/.971 = 49.74 to account for the 2.9% + .30 transaction fee paypal charges anyone with a premier or business account.

I know its compilcated, maybe I shouldnt have posted it - in the words of Ronny Reagen "Oh well"

Nope. its $49.70. Read my post above. Your making it waaaaaaaay more difficult than it has to be.
