Because the set of Uncirculated state quarters I bought on ebay did not have kansas, i bought a 4 uncirculated kansas coins from anouther seller. The seller had Positive Feedback: at 99.9%. The coins just came in the mail more banged up then the vast majority of circulated quarters I have seen. I emailed the seller and politely told her of the issue and ask if I could get sent new quarters or get a refunded. The seller said no way because she " delivered what was promised." and I could just sent back other junk quarters to fool her. Do you feel I sould rate her bad and do coins come from the mint banged up sometimes?

If you give her a negative, she may give you one back. I'd leave neutral feedback detailing what I received and the 'no return' policy. That will help to warn others even if she held up her end of the deal 100%, which she may have since I haven't seen the ad. I like to ask sellers questions about their product if I've never done business with them before. If I don't get a good feeling about their reply or lack thereof, I move on.

The first neutral on >> this list << would have sent me looking for another seller of the very common item in question. :(

If you've maintained your account for years and if it has 100% perfect feedback I wouldn't leave her a neutral or a neg. but if it is new with out much holding you back I'd say neg. her as much as possible but know she is the type to give it right back faster than you can blink at you no matter how truthful you were.

This seller sounds like a liar to me after reading what you wrote run_run and what the reply was with another who left a neutral with the same problem.

There are a lot of Ebay sellers with inflated ratings because people are afraid to leave a negative. Dishonest sellers frequently get a free pass this way.

The good sellers leave feedback once they get paid.

Only popping in to post here and there satoo. :) You make a great point zaneman. I always prefer a seller like that as I see them as having more credibility with what they are selling. I noticed that with the seller in question here though that they leave feedback before the buyers do...

I almost always check the feedback of every seller before I buy, pay close attention to the neutrals...theres all kinds of little tricky scams ebay sellers can pull, and try to avoid the power sellers if you can, they seem to be the worst ;)

Speaking of eBay scams, I was offered a "second chance" on some industrial equipment I had bid on, BUT, was told I had to send a Western Union money transfer overseas(because the seller was on his honeymoon, and needed to buy something for his wife), rather than using PayPal. There was an official-looking statement saying that eBay had an escrow account established for this seller, for my protection. I was suspicious, and contacted eBay. After about a week, eBay finally told me this was an example of "phishing", and was a fraudulent message. Buyer beware!

Speaking about feedback scams, I USED to leave it when I got paid, but after a few individuals began claiming they never received the item or was horribly damaged immediately after I posted positive. In one of those instances the buyer tried to resell the very item they said they had never received asbout six weeks later. Keep an eye on buyers who claim this. I always offer insurance and add "Not Responsible for Uninsured Items."

I now wait until the buyer receives the item and is totally satisfied and have posted feedback reflecting such. Now for the past three years since I began this policy, I haven't had a dissatisfied customer since.

I sell quite a few items as well a buy a few on eBay and this Seller is one that I would probably steer away from! It appears that she uses a Generic picture which was probably copied from some Website and does not show a picture or pictures of the coins that you will receive. My philosophy is to never purchase an item or items from a Seller using a Generic picture unless the Seller guarantees that the item(s) are in as good or better condition than the pictured coin but most of the time, I stay away from these as well!

I would actually write to her again and say you dont want to leave neg and report her, but you will. I dont care about gettin a neg. I have one allready from doing that. Then after you give a neg then you can negotiate the seller/buyer come to an agreement feedback. that way she knows you mean business....dont be pushed around.

I disagree, you are overgenralizing and accusing a number of good sellers of having no character.

When a seller leaves feedback before the payment is received they have invited all variety of scams from unscrupulous buyers. Luckily I wasn't burned by any of them before I revised my feedback policy.

You are right that some people use feedback as a way to extort favorable feedback from their buyers, but please don't assume that just because a seller protects him/herself from feedback extortion that they are guilty of it too.

Why would a seller ever leave feedback before payment was received???
