Expececially when I compared the recient ebay auction of real similar sets

I know I was missing the keys and a few others but come on. I wasn't expecting a hundred but more than $26.00
    Maybe I started to low?

That happens quite a bit with sellers that are not known for Power Sellers or carry a really good following. $26 is awful !

A friend of mine sells antique motorcycle parts on e-bay and will usually get 10-15% more for his stuff than others selling the exact same part....who knows....give it time...take care of your customers....your reputation will eventually get you on peoples radar....

Your mistake was listing it for less than you wanted to sell it for.

$.99 auctions often backfire. Anytime you list something for $.99 and the market doesn't respond, then you really can't complain. If you wanted more than you should have either set a reserve or started with a higher minimum bid.
Tough lesson to learn but these $.99 auctions are often like playing Russian roulette with a loaded gun. Sometimes you get the bullet and sometimes you don't.

    Bummer

From the links you did your comparison to, I see that some had better pictures and better condition coins. The last link sold for the same price as yours so I don't get your complain?

The best thing to do is take individual or close up pictures of some coins, that should help out a little more IMO.

With the zoom tool, the pictures were the same.
and it is hard to judge condition on any of them

The last link auction only had 1941-1974 so that was part of the complaint

Another problem is that ebay only allows 12 photos

You can host your own photos to add to your listing (as I recall). You can also edit multiple photos into a single file so a single one of your photos might show the obverse and reverse of 3 or 4 coins.

Were you using the same categories as the other listers? When what your listing ending? How many days was at listed. All these things make a difference.

How do you host your own photos?

Ended today. Same catagory as the rest and 7 days listed.

I appologize if it seems like I am ranting and raving. Its just frustrating when I put so much effort and don't get the rewards.

Another thing is the ending time - I seem to recall reading that between 10 and 11 EST was best. I do not know for a fact.

The link above, which fetched over $90 was bid that high partially due to the set being housed in a 'Library of Congress' album. Old albums and coin boards are collectible in their own right. This particular LOC album looks to be in rather nice condition. I'd love to house my raw Lincolns in LOC albums as nice as that one.

you can link your photobucket photos to your ebay listing...in the item description .....there is a html tab behind the regular tab for describing you items...click on that tab and paste the html code from photobucket....it is similar to posting here, just the html code instead of the img....hope this helps..

I noticed you only had 129 hits on that listing. After looking at the title, I think putting the word "penny" somewhere in the listing would have probably tripled its exposure. Just a suggestion...

dude, it's not "ranting and raving," you want to maximize your sale and you have been asking in a very constructive way how you might have improved the listing.

I agree that ending your listing at 9 or 10 eastern time is best.

The FIRST photo in your listing has the holes in it. It might have been better to put the first photo of a complete page in the album.

You have 17 bidders and I bet even more watchers, so you did some things right.
