I posted earlier about my paypal dispute, which I will probably lose my coin and money on that one. It seems everything I post for sale I get constant emails of people trying to steal the item from me. I currently have a auction for 30 grams of 14k gold. These are the emails i get. Dear bkozak34, I can offer you $455 shipped through PayPal if you would like to save a little on fees. Let me know. - mcorona.863 Then as the price climbs past 450.00 i get this Dear bkozak34, Oh I'm sorry I must have mistaken your lot with another one. Your is all 14k correct? If that is the case then I could offer you $600 shipped. - mcorona.863
I sell alot of gold jewlery on ebay to pay for my coins. so i know what i can get for it. I am at the point where i feal like if im a buyer or a seller on ebay Im skeptical about getting ripped off
Some sellers will sell something on ebay, but if you drop them a line they will then sell the same thing cheaper outside of ebay. Two or 3 times I was then second high bidder on an item - I got messages from the seller saying they would sell me one at my price. I told all three they needed to go thru ebay and set me up a buy it now. Only one honest seller took me up on the offer, the others wanted to do it outside of ebay.
Those other people weren't necessarily dishonest - eBay charges a lot of fees so if they do a deal outside eBay then can sell for less and still make the same amount of money or more. Of course as a buyer you have no way of knowing if you can trust them. I'd be very leery of doing it on a high-value item, but something that's 10 bucks I'd definitely consider.
