    It was an interesting read, but the article itself is about a year old.

    Very interesting and very clever.

    I mean, I've known for a long time that there were companies out there that promised a cut of the profits if you could steer folks to certain sites but the nice buy in me never made any type of fraudulent connection to the practice.

    I guess that why those two are in jail and we are not. Right?

    Also, the practice seems to be legal, as eBay cites 26,000 affiliate marketers in the article. It's just that these two guys "marketed" in an illegal way, i.e., attempting to defraud eBay.

    Think you missed the point that eBay was the victim of the scam here, not a customer buying something from eBay.
