Not all ANACS slabs have a bar code, but I do believe that style is supposed to have one. Conder is the one to ask for sure as this one is not in the book.

These are the new 'problem' ANACS slabs.
I believe that they don't have a bar code.

Yeah they do Frank - HERE

Also, keep in mind for the future that ANACS is no longer using the 2 slab system. They stopped doing that recently.

    Doug,

Wrong link. That is the US mint.

Possible ANACS slab problem aside, the thing still has terrible eye-appeal, key-date or not...

That was my point. I have no problem with the listing... I can't believe that people are bidding 2 grand on THAT coin, basically bidding strictly on detail... that coin is butt-ugly. Better examples can be had without going much higher. Personally I would rather have a coin a detail grade or two less than a corroded one that's been "tooled"

I may be a little slow, 'cause it took me a while to come to the conclusion that it's tough to find good deals on coins & related items on ebay, because there's almost always someone willing to pay too much for them. :)

That sure is an ugly key date coin. No doubt.

If I were into Mercs and had the money I'd much rather have a nice VG or F12 original coin.

DUH ! Sorry about that gang - guess it was a good thing in a way. I managed to find an example of each this time, one with a barcode and one without. WITH - WITHOUT

I rather have G-VG with no problems for around $900-$1200 than that coin.

I think that my AG3 16-D Merc looks better than that coin.

MAN! What a profile that coin has. Corroded, tooled, and cleaned, wonder what more could have been done to it! People don't surprise me anymore. Been tooled, but says that it has EF-AU details? I think I see what you are missing, but I think I'm missing it too. :D

    Phoenix

Apparently ANACS uses just four lines of printing on their labels. If the description of problems extends into the fourth line thay drop the barcode.
