We lived in the Philippines from late '78-Feb '79 and brought lots of it home with us for keepsakes. (6 of everything since there were four kids and 2 parents-except the bills...just brought back 2 of those when Marcos was still in reign).
My dads side was from the Philippines. In fact, I remember always talking with my grandfather about life when he first moved here and life in the Philippines before he passed away this January. I could post some Filipino coins and currency if you want me to. They were in my grandparents basement when we were cleaning it out. At least I can still learn about the life when it wasn't so complicated from my grandmother. Tell me if you want to see some of mine they aren't half centavos but they're still beautiful coins. -MSS
Here's some of mine. They're 1940's. The two loose ones are from my grandfathers wallet. The two in cases are from Savannah when we visited. I got them for silver price. I've always wanted these General McAuthur fifty centabvos and peso coins. Anyways, here they are. Obviously they arent the best quality pictures. Here are the two loose coins, the twenty centavos is in better condition than the ten centavos. Sorry the other pictures aren't uploading correctly I'll try to fix em
I think the mintages are recorded, I'll have to check the references later. I believe this is one of the more common years for proof Philippines issues. If not higher mintage, then certainly more of these were saved. I also have a nicer (read: not cleaned) 1905 proof centavo. No picture of that, though!
