Hello everyone, I've decided that it is time to sell off my early copper library, as I am primarily an early Federal silver collector, and these books do not get as much use as they should with me. The funds will likely be allocated to building the Seated section of my numis library. I thought I would give the members of this board first shot, as many of these books are very scarce and rarely seen. Please see the linked article by Denis Loring (one of the top-experts in the field of large cents) with his recomendations for building a large cent reference library. http://www.eacs.org/lcctext.htm The Encyclopedia of Early United States Cents 1793-1814 by Walter Breen, Deluxe Edition - This is a hardbound book with over 800 illustrated pages packed full of information regarding early date large cents. Book is near mint with only slight wear visible on the covers and clean, white, unmarked pages. - HOLD United States Large Cents 1793-1814 by William Noyes - This book is an excellent resource for attributing early date large cents and provide excellent descriptions and pictures for comparison to your coins. Brown Collection of Large Cent 1793-1857 by Superior, 9/86 - I think this excerpt from Denis Loring's article says it all: "In my opinion (for those who don't know me, I always have an opinion), the finest numismatic auction catalogue ever produced, on anything, by anyone, period. Every Sheldon number (the first time ever), plus more NC's than you've ever seen. Every Newcomb number from 1840-1857 listed in Newcomb, plus many unlisted varieties. Every coin meticulously described by EAC standards, including die state. Every coin plated, obverse and reverse. Enough raving -- go buy a copy and savor the pinnacle of the cataloguers's art." - With the PRL, very light wear around the edges of the cover, insides are perfect - SOLD Lastly, The Wes Rasmussen Sale of United States Large Cents by Heritage, 1/05- Very important sale of large cents from the Rasmussen collection.
