im awful at grading these things. I looked at the PCGS photograde and I'm thinking anywhere between a f-15-VF30. No clue. Would this coin be detailed because of the rim bump? What would you pay for this coin if you were going to add it to your collection? Thanks everyone.
Pretty coin eitherway, yummy! And considering I prefer coins raw, I could live with that little rim ding. Ive got ancients with worse rim issues them that.
I like that coin, VF maybe a low end EF. I got a bust half today... but just a common date capped bust in low grade, oh well, I'm happy with it either way. I love old silver coins. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121548115967?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Yes, I'm sure the OP grabbed that gorgeous, naturally-toned 1799 dollar and dipped it white first thing. The last shot is angled and exposed to highlight the rim issue. The rest of the coin is slightly overexposed. I don't recommend that you take any "eBay bad picture gambles".
SLIGHTLY?? Why would anybody post a crap pic when they already had a very good one showing the real coin? Zoom in to the damage to show it!! Don't change the whole coin just for a ding
A rock solid vf 30 maybe even 35. Nice original color I thinkthe dipped idea camera flash a nice coin a few rim knocks but I like the color. Looks $2500-3k to me
Markus - changing the angles just slightly can make the exact same coin look like 2 very different coins. And that's all this was.
Dipped? How much mint "life" would one expect on a coin minted 216 years ago? I think it's the same coin in both pictures (not dipped between). Especially a circulated one under AU.
