    This one has text: NERVAT*****. I presume it is Trajan, early 2nd century. I haven't identified the smaller coin yet.

    It looks like the smaller one says "...CADIVSPFAV..." meaning that it's a coin of Arcadius, dating it from 383-408.

    The Trajan is a quadrans or 1/4 of an as. It is one of the latest examples of this small denomination since inflation made them less than necessary soon after this time.

    Well, that's the first time I've ever been able to know what the denomination of one of my coins is. Thanks.
