Eagle Reverse Bar token: peg cup

    514A59C5-E679-44EA-B8B0-C283FBC7A25A.jpeg The eight pegs on the cup represent marks on a universal drinking flagon. Each person would share from the cup, however they were not to drink past their peg, or mark on the cup.

    In this way alcohol could be bought and shared. If they did drink part their mark, then they would usually be hit, or punished with a fight. Hence the phrase: to knock someone down a peg.
