After reading many post on this site I know that some people like E-bay while others don’t. I have made about 80 purchases and have been overall satisfied with the prices I’ve paid and quality of coins. There was a post last week where the person received the wrong coins and wanted to leave negative feedback since the seller wasn’t responding fast enough to his e-mails. I find the response time to e-mails varies greatly but most people will get back with you and usually there is a reason for the delay. I purchased a set of 2002 silver state quarters graded individually by NGC PF69UC for $50 including shipping from a seller in Florida. The seller required a money order or cashiers check only and stated that he would ship when payment was received. Well I sent a money order off and didn’t receive the coins after 2 ½ weeks so an e-mailed the seller. It took the seller a week to get back to me but he stated that he was out of town and would send them out the next day. Waited another week for the coins and sent another e-mail requesting the coins or a refund. The seller responded that he just sent off the coins and included a bonus for my patience. Well after 5-weeks I received the coins. The state quarters looked great and the bonus was 2003 silver eagle graded MS69. I think the 5-weeks was pushing the envelope but with the bonus coin there was nothing but positive feedback from me. What do you think?
The guy is sloppy for sure, but he makes up for it. I would say he stands behind his business, and although the service is questionable he seems to have quite a bit of integrity.
And some use "out of town" as an excuse. On April 28, I bought a coin, check or money order only, on May 9th it was cashed. On May 22, I finally get an answer....I been out of town" BS. Out of which town, LIAR? He cashed the check on the 9th and left town on the 19th.
Five weeks is a lot of frustration to endure. It's nice that the seller threw in the ASE, but I would have much preferred prompt delivery.
