    Hi All,

What are your opinions on these two items which were part of a large auction lot that I won recently.

    Francois I Teston, 3 cm diameter, weight 9.4812 g.

It is hammered but the design looks all kinds of wrong with the bust being especially comical. I don't have much experience with French hammered coins so I thought i'd best check before I consign it to the bad reproductions box.

Chinese Numismatic charm, 6 cm diameter, weight 41.3829 g

It had an old ticket claiming it was from 1150 AD. Can anyone translate it?

    Many thanks for your help

I'm not familiar with the teston, but the nose is very odd, but that might just the result of the strike, and the overall style is crude, possibly a contemporary imitation?

What is the weight range for this type?

Weight seems OK for the teston
Unless it's due to the lightning the metal doesn't look like silver, rather like some silver layer applied on basemetal.
Also the reverse legend is wrong : should read NO NOBIS instead of NON NOBIS. Might be an error though.
All the above and the cartoonish portrait make me think it might be a contemporary forgery ( keep in mind there are many different portraits to them).
