    Hi All,

I was looking at a coin on ebay that is marked as a Sheldon-232. Its a lower grade.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/141868157266

It seems this variety (S0232) commonly has a cud on the reverse in the top left area. The coin on ebay doesnt appear to have as pronounced a cud, but there is some rim activity (see ebay images). I actually initially thought it was a rim ding that had been worn.

What do others think of the reverse of the coin for sale? Is that the remains of the cud, or a rim ding?

Neat coin regardless. Some day I hope to have a higher grade example. : )

    Cheers,
    GL

It looks like a small cud . IMHO . Nice coin for the grade .

The late stage of S-232 does have a rim cud over ATE. This coin has a rim bump over TE and it is an S-233 NOT an S-232 (and it is correctly identified in the auction and on the slab.) S-233 does NOT come with rim break in that location.
