Hello, I found a penny that has a doubled "U" in the word Trust, unfortunately it's damaged right at the area, but you can still make out the bottom of the second "U" which is the one to the left of the original "U". I'd appreciate any thoughts as to if this is an error or not, or what it is. I'm posting a picture. Thanks

Your coin has been damaged, it is not an error.

I believe you are looking at damage only. It appears that whatever hit the coin there scraped half of the left bar of the U down, making it look like it is part of another U. Displaced metal is what I am seeing.

Thanks guys, yeah it makes sense, it would be a very strange coincidence for there to be damage right at the spot where the doubled "U" would be. It's just when I looked at it under a magnifier I could see some of the "U" on the left side, and some of it at the bottom, it was probably just pushed aside by whatever impacted it.
