The town that I live in has not one coin dealer in it. Matter of fact I have to drive over an hour to get to one plus I am quite new at this as you will probably guess when you see my photos. This is a 1977 Dime. Notice the BER in "LIBERTY". What do you think? Any suggestions on taking better photos?
Hi, Looks like machine doubling. Typically that produces the shelf or flattened effect. Don't be discouraged, it does take a while to learn the differences. Here is a good url http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/OtherFormsOfDoubling.htm Jim
Thankyou It is awesome to have a resource such as this. When you dont know you just dont know. Thanks for helping me see the difference and not just saying no. For a young collector it is you guys that keep us coming back.
Even with years of experience and handling many many doubled dies, I can be unsure quite often. But the experience will help as well as looking at examples on the forum. here are a few threads with DD that I have posted lately. Keep looking!
