What I see is an area under Ike’s chin that has been affected by a strike through. A have a LMZ that’s very similar in appearance. The black on the coin below is the struck tru material and I don’t want to remove it but if I did I know the surface would look similar to the dimes area under the chin. The date has been heavily affected and almost eliminated just like the “in god we trust” on the dime. AGAIN, just my theory, a guess and nothing more
