http://cgi.ebay.com/1995-LINCOLN-CE...CA-2-O-V-_W0QQitemZ220424403963QQcmdZViewItem I'm not seeing the DDO. If it is, please explain. Thanks.
Doubled die in my opinion, it is 1995 DDO - die #2. 2-O-V. If you are a Lincoln Die collector, they rarely show up. I think the price is still high. Since it is listed as circulated, would expect it to be closer to $30-40. Jim
Sorry, I missed the important part of your question. If you look at the photo " IN G" you will notice that there is a thin light visible line along each letter on the left side, appearing on the surface of the letter, this is a sign of a DD, as it is not a flattened or bulged shape of MD or Deteriorated dies. You can see this on the other letters also. It is rarer than the 1995 DDO- 1, but the doubling, especially on liberty is no wheres as separated. The value of these are mainly apparent in the high grade MS coins. Jim
I really don't see any signs of a doubled die there's no indication of notching and to me it has a flat like shelf images on the letters and especially the digit 5.The pics are not the clearest shots i would not attempt to purchase this coin very doubtful in my opinion. JC
It is definitely DDO #2. I also agree that the price is high. If you look at coppercoins pics and look at the EBay coin it'll clear it up. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1995&die_id=1995p1do002&die_state=mds
Well I magnified to about 400 times the only possible doubling i do see is on the N and seperation lines ,and the image is raised on that letter well i guess it is a doubled die, but I also thing there's some MD on this coin like i said before the digit 5. The sellers pics to me are very poor and when that;s the case i would put a warning sign on this purchase still. I don't trust poor photos like this especially when it comes to determine if it;s a doubled die for someone to buy, and not certified. JC
Well, the seller must be less than an expert or he would have photographed the entire date. The "1" has a die chip near the top left and is a distinctive confirmation; the lapel of the coat is also distinctively doubled. Jim
Well I agree, poor photo's. Also his arrow or lines are placed where they could be pointing at anything unlike the photo's on coppercoins site. But still a close inspection shows the doubling. Something to look for.
1974 double die? Can anyone tell me if this is double die? I have not seen liberty written like this before...barely visible until I blew it up with my camera and kodak gallery...anyone please? Michelle:bow:
i have had alot of 1995 pennys that looked like dd but the word libert didnt have any doubleing in it so i didnt keep them. if i was going to buy a dd i wouldnt want to look real hard at it to think it was a dd, when you see a real dd you dont got to look hard at it to try and fined something on it. just my opinion.
I feel if you really have to look hard for a doubled die I don't think it's worth buying. When a doubled die is so lite and very very little doubling I really am not interested in those > Well if i have to magnify the coin to an extreme number to see, it's probably worth a few bucks when there like that, and that goes for RPMS as well Just my opinion.I like the ones were you could see it thru a 5X loupe or the naked eye. JC
Now as far as the 1974 cent I would say the coin is die deterioration doubling and the coin looks pretty beat up by your pics. When you want us coin guys to examine your coins, the pics have to be larger and clearer for us to really determine and help you to see if your coin is a doubled die or not. I don't see any indications of hub doubling on your coin JCand formerly Jazzcoins Joe yep I'm back hello and glad to be back.
"I feel if you really have to look hard for a doubled die I don't think it's worth buying."
