Double ear lincoln?

Looked odd, other 97s that i pulled out to compare with do not have that line that connects midway up the ear. Is my imagination getting to me or is this the famed double ear?

I'm just not seeing a doubled ear.

 

the one your refering to is a fresh die, and the 2nd pic is of a worn out die with less detail

Matt - If you're going to cross compare, make sure your control specimen is the same grade
