If you check out coppercoins.com you would notice there are doubles ofalmost every date. However, there are doubles of almost every coin ever minted in some degree or other. You will notice as you research this that the greatest amount of doubles are obverse. That is because few people really look at the reverse of most coins. Pennies are the most numerous mostly because so many people collect pennies and therefore such errors are noticed more. If we could get everyone that collects coins to start looking at the reverse first, the reverses would be the more common double dies. Get a copy of the Red Book and you will notice the lack of double dies in Dimes. They are to small for the average person to see the doubles.
