Double Die? 1987

    One more intresting coin. This one has some promise, but I haven't seen a case of machine doubling in a looooong time now and am wondering if this coin was minted back when that kind of thing was still common? As far as I can tell, it's only on the date.     Die Deterioration Doubling..

    Not a true DOUBLED Die variety

    Really?!? I thought for sure this was one. What am I looking at differently, because I can see split plate die deterioration or possibly a rather wide DDD especially to the right of the 7, and then I see 4x edges around the inside and outside of the 8 especially. But I'm pretty sure all the numbers exhibit the same, I'll take a look again, cuz I think I found that one some time in the middle of the night half buzzed and possibly hallucinating due to sleep deprivation.
