I have been spending some time putting together a Dos Peso set which ranges from 1919-1948. The years contained are 1919, 1920, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947 and an elusive 1948 (with like 8 known)

For realistic purposes I decided to do 1919-1947. I have acquired these so far and have been patiently waiting for the 1944 to complete it.

These are cool little gold coins. I like them but haven't been able to find one at a decent price near melt. I guess if you are working on a set then that doesn't matter as much. Thanks for sharing :)

Peso is singular as in UN PESO.. One Dollar
DOS PESOS is plural as in Two Dollars ;)

I actually was able to find these between 120-155 if memory serves me. So its nice like most where they are way out of reach.

It's not about making me happy. I'm just trying to help you understand the important difference.
Don't you want to make the correct reference?

Melt on these is like $80 something dollars if memory serves me right. I couldn't pay almost 2x melt.

Well I don't need a teacher nor someone to follow my posts to correct spelling actually most people can get the difference with or without the "s". I would think you get enough Double(d) dies for that. most people that are miserable enjoy things like this so I leave them too it. I learned enough about people and their feelings of importance and attention throughout my tenure in the Army and after retirement. So as I said thanks for the monumental correction of the error in my post.

You can always do like gold and silver stackers and pray for the rates to go up lol. I agree that mostly for like the 1945's which have many restrikes but for years like 1944 and 1947 when the mintages are 10,000 and 25,000 it makes it a little more difficult.

We appreciate your sharing, regardless of small details. I know even the best of us mess up a little now and then. Keep it up, love your apparent enthusiasm.

'nother one for the ignore list ... getting crowded over there. I wonder with all the ego's if it fits on a 2.5" disk or we have to use a 3.5" one.

I'm not upset I merely did as you did. I don't think you have to chase people around for misspellings or forgetting an S. I stated it my 1st reply it was an minor error. I figured that would have killed the discussion. If I hurt your feeling im sorry that was not the intention. There are 2 sides to a coin. I don't want you to stop your discussion for coins as I do enjoy your error knowledge I just think sometimes you don't have to push the note so hard.

While I don't have the Rockefeller account for coin purchases I do like to share some of the collections as most have a lot of time and process invested into them.

    Ok fine.. Peace then? :angelic:

Some background about myself.. I'm Hispanic. I love the Spanish language. I study Spanish word origins and meanings. It's all really fascinating to me.
So I felt that the singular and plural meaning would help.
I didn't think my post would upset you but it's understandable how you feel. Maybe I'm just misunderstood by certain members. :(

I think its a cool little collection sir. I admit I have never paid attention much to the dates and what is available. I have bought them when my local dealer, (whom I relieve of melt value gold when he has it), has them near melt. I am pretty darn sure, though, I have a 44. I simply remember it because it was my mother's birth year. If you want I can look the next time I am at the SDB if you wanted to swap one for it.

Problem with internet forums is no one can see your face. Seeing a person changes how people take things. :)

I know sir, (and apologizing to OP for hijacking too), but we all have to understand words are only part of meaning. I have done the same sir, wrote something but it "reads" differently to others. My point was a cautionary one, saying its easy to have your words misinterpreted, and be quick, (like you did) to apologize if your post is worded in a way that people can misinterpret your meaning.
