Dont miss out. Right now on ebay you can buy, in pre-sale, the 2006 Return to Monticello Nickel. If you act now, you can get yours at the great price from anywhere between $11.95 and $19.95 plus shipping. Why buy them from the mint for $8.95 when you can buy them on ebay and improve your feedback rating....

    (sarcasm)

Sad part is people are buying them. Checked one auctions bidders list and one person purchased 5 sets and a total of 18 sets purchased with buy it now at $13.95 and $4.95 S&H. Sad.

I think some people have a phobia about buying directly from a government agency.

Not just that, but some people just don't know about the U.S. Mint website (seriously!).

And some people don't have credit cards, so they use money orders or personal checks on eBay.

Some people consider eBay the "be all, end all" of the shopping experience and don't even consider other avenues... their loss...

My momma always told me to "shop around"... :D

Yea, that may be true too, but if they visit Coin Talk, they'll find this link:

I would say the number of people who know about the US mint website are directly related to the number of people who collect coins. And I am sure there are many people who do collect coins that have no clue about the US mint. I'm not going to complain though, b/c those are the folks that I can make a small profit from so I can go on vacation every year!

Better hurry! Likely only about a billion will be minted, and when they're gone, you'll have to wait another year before they'll mint any more! Don't miss out!

I bet I can get a great deal on a roll of these from my bank. Will cost me $2, and if I go there in person, no shipping charges!
