Agreed, who knows what it might fetch in auction?!? Be careful with it, you have unearthed a new piece of numismatics history! I wouldn't take less than around $10,000 for that rare coin!
Cool circulation find in it's own way, someone should try to make a disgusting looking zincoln set for each year. I have my fair share of nasty looking zincolns, almost all of them were dug metal detecting by me. I have much worse ones, but this is the only photo of one I took. One has what looks like a bite mark straight through the middle, and is only held together by a small amount of metal near the edge on top. The US was probably the first country to make Eco-Friendly coins, that biodegrade into the ground after probably around 50 years or so.
