Found while cleaning out storage locker a bag of Susan B. Anthony Dollar coins and Sacajawea (spelling??) Dollar coins. Are they worth trying to sell or just for grabbing a cup of coffee and donuts??
If they were originally from pocket change and look circulated, then they are likely worth $1 apiece. You can look for rare varieties (consult the internet or the "Modern Dollar Coins" Bowers book), but the chances you have any are probably slim. I still receive Sacajawea dollars in change and high quality examples appear in droves at coin shows. The "Cheerios" variety remains the only really extremely valuable type.
I recently popped a crisp Yankee fiver into a vending machine- for the first time in my life-- and got 2 Sacajawea's and a Wm. H. Harrison $. Looks like a "modrun" dollar coin is about the same size as an 1800 half-cent.
