Has anyone here ever bought from Coin Country? If so has your experience been favorable? Sounds like one of them dang surveys, but I am just curious. I also have to admit-- with some shame-- that I bought a First Day Issue - Satin Finish Westward Journey Set from HSN. It's a six coin set and I paid $139 for it. And I am learning. The bulk of my coin collection came from the mint and they will be the only one I will buy from indirectly from now on. I'll just consider this HSN set as a learning experience. And hello to everybody and thanks for your feedback.
Yes. I made three purchases last year. Overall, it was okay. They have a good return policy. You can always send it back. They have grown greatly over the last 12 months. I try not to buy ANYTHING from TV anymore. Some shows are worse than others. All seem to have high prices. My three purchases from Coin Country... 1. Picked up a roll of Morgans. Had the coins just a few days after I ordered. Nice mix of dates and mints. Got very lucky with some nice VAMs. 2. My wife bought a set of 50 silver bars in a large wooden box. After too much time went by without delivery, we contacted them. They actually told us that they couldn't find a box big enough to ship it. We're talking about something smaller than two shoe boxes. They said the wooden box had been sitting there for weeks. They were still looking for a large box. We finally got it. 3. Ordered some silver rounds but never received them. Contacted them SEVERAL times. Finally got a return call. They had been robbed and my package was among the stolen merchandise. After months of waiting and filling out an insurance form, we finally got the few rounds we ordered. I watched the show last night. Saw a couple of items that looked like nice deals. I always get tempted because I am MANY hours from the nearest coin shop. However, I still avoid buying from TV and just watched to see the variety of coins.
nesvt, after reading your 3 experiences, I'd say there average is not so great. If their stories were true, then I feel for them being robbed, but telling a customer that they "couldn't find a box big enough" and not contacting them for weeks, seems like poor customer experience.
i watch that show alot *isomniac* but i've never ordered anything from them. i want to, but i restrain myself.
