Does this penny look strange to anyone?

I was going through some old pennies that have been stored for awhile and thought this one seemed a little off. The coin seems to curve upwards at the edges causing the I in Liberty and the 4 in the date to seem strange when using a loop. Also, the curve causes the words "In God We Trust" to look a bid odd. I flipped it over and it looks like the reverse also curves upward which didn't make sense to me. I would've expected it to curve downward given the obverse. Also, the reverse doesn't seem to have any kind of edge or rim or whatever it's called that most coins have around the outside. The obverse only seems to have it on the left side, not the right. Maybe this is slightly off center?

At some point it was graded & slabbed as a 1954 PCGS MS65RD.

Is this an error or an example of die deterioration?
