    Honestly, it looks more like PMD (Post Mint Damage).

    look at the way that the questionable area is misformed. The shape of the D is not normal.

    Your avatar looks like a Pileated Woodpecker.
    I've only seen one once in Montana in 1960.

    Yeah they are big birds. Saw one kill a tree about 15 years ago. Unfortunately the one in my avatar can't read. That tree is posted so that includes him too.
