Does this coin set have any value?

Greetings from a relative newbie---I received a few sets like this over the years from a coin collector relative. Does anyone have opinions of whether this set has any value, and if so, how you would categorize/describe a set like this? (It is obviously not a "proof set", so what is it?) And what do you think it might be worth?

    Thanks for your help!

Well I'll try to be nice here.... you've got at least $1 and forty-one cents worth in each set!
As for your relative, there are collectors and then there are collectors--most folks on this forum are true coin collectors; don't know what this kind of collecting could be called?
These sets are generally known as " boiler room sets"---made up junk to sell to unsuspecting buyers using the hype of fabulous price increases in the world of coin collecting!
Don't know if there is any secondary market for these, maybe, but I doubt it.

    As said, secondary market plating.
Watch those guys on TV and you'll see them offered.
Sorry, but they are just a rip off.
    Sell it on eBay.

The coins don't have numismatic value, but it doesn't mean they are "junk." Everything is collectible, but not everyone collects everything. If you can find similar sets selling on Ebay, you will know approximately what they are worth.

About 8 years ago my wife bought me this great set of gold plated quarters. Every December I automatically get the next set of 10 quarters of the P and D mint. It was a sweet thought, and I love her dearly, but they are not worth much. Every now and again I see some of the same quarters out on ebay and many times I have seen them close with no bids. If you cannot even sell it on ebay, must not be worth much.

    Good Luck!

My wife did the same. I decided to run out the collection, and when it is finished, to sell the complete collection....P mint, D mint and "gold mint" lol

Worse comes to worse, i hope i will at least get the value of a complete UNC P&D set when I sell it

It's probably one of those things I will just give to my son straight away. He will think it's GREAT to have a set of gold coins :).

    Update

Just wanted to post on update/answer to this question I asked a couple weeks back. The value of this set (as determined by ebay bidders at least) is............................ $16.27. Thanks for the replies.

while they are not worth much money, they were given to you by a relative,
who thought enough of you to give them to you.
    they are a nice set,though.
i would value them, hopefully with nice thoughts.
