https://www.ebay.com/itm/Anonymous-...h=item1a3b3d8f14:g:BAkAAOSw241Yl57Q:rk:3:pf:0 I mean ive gotten Roman Republic AS's for a lot less than this with Janus obverse. this seller seem similar to Highratinglowprice? and I am not sure if all his coins are genuine the Hadrian looks like it might be fake( not sure!)
There are extremely many overpriced or fake coins on eBay. I hope we don't have to pay much attention to them. I prefer the threads where people post what they bought and some information about it. By the way, if anyone wants to discuss fakes, there is a yahoo list for it: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/CoinForgeryDiscussionList/info The CoinForgeryDiscussionList, which you can join and set to send you e-mails once a day or every time something new is pointed out. Or, you can set it to not send notifications at all.
no. It has clear Victory and spearhead symbols. The symbol types usually have the symbols either worn off, or off flan. This is really much better than typical. The coin is VF albeit with surface issues and there's a fine detailed Janus head. If anything it seems under priced. If it didn't have the surface issues (well, one could wish) it would be fair value at three times the current offer price. All in all thus is very fairly priced. I'm speaking from a perspective of course where I'm used to paying a lot more for Janus head Republican asses in nice condition. I bought a decent one with staff symbol at the ANA convention in Philadelphia for $1250.
I had come across that seller's auctions a while back and the prices appeared reasonable, quite unlike "Highratinghigherprice". Not only does he lower prices periodically (that 160.00 Hadrian galley sestertius was at 200 a week ago) but he accepts Best Offers, and based on the sold auctions seems to entertain and accept offers 20%-30% below the asking price. If you found something you like I'd recommend that you send a best offer and see what happens.

no. That's the fault of the cng photos which are much darker than the coins. It's a pleasing mid-brown. I don't repatinate coins btw. I'd describe it as just brown. it's typical of the excellent surfaces of my bronzes. Probably of my 300 struck Republican bronzes, at least half have this colour and patina
