This is an image of the steps of a 1969-S nickel I recently found in a mint set and I was just curious to know if it has a chance at earning the FS designation if I were to submit it to PCGS for grading. Feedback of any kind is greatly appreciated. Im new to the hobby and I'm trying to avoid making the mistake that I have heard is common for people in my shoes to make, with that specifically being wasting a lot of money submitting coins for grading that aren't worth the trouble or that don't merit the expense.
In case you didn't see it, Mountain Man posted an excellent set of reference links in another thread on telling full steps earlier today. I'll quote it here because I can't figure out how to just link to it. Note that his comments were for a different thread than yours, but I think the links are worth it to cross post here:
This coin has 3 Full Steps, you could make an argument for 4FS, but there is no way that it has 5FS. The 4th line is clearly broken from the middle of the 1st quadrant to the middle of the last quadrant.
I don't think it's going to go FS but this date is so tough I can't rule out the possibility that a picture from another angle could show enough to get it. This looks like about the best they come but FS is a stretch.
