Does this 1833 Bust Half look fake to you?

    Never seen a 5 or a 0 like those on a bust half. Didn't match up to anything in Overton or Souders books.

    Almost comical in appearance. I would have stirred clear of this one also.

    Well, you didn't find it because you were looking in the wrong book. You should have checked Davignon instead of Overton. What you have there is an authentic contemporary counterfeit.

    It is a die struck piece and is listed as Obverse 1 Reverse1. It is rated as extremely common. There are a bunch of folks who collect these and it is worth around $100.

    The winner got a nice deal at $37. I hope he knows what he bought.

    LOL. bummer... I was gonna buy it just for the novelty of it Didn't know I could have turned a nice profit on it,
