I thought for NGC to take a picture of your coin and enter it in their data base it costs 2 or 3 bucks extra, but ive been seeing alot of the newer slabs with lower value coins have pictures, like a coin valued at 5 dollars in a new ngc slab has a picture? Is it standard on newer graded coins or extra?

When submitting coins for grading, if you want photos (sent via e-mail) it costs $3 per coin. While the images are okay, they're not the best.

Actually I believe all NGC graded slabs are pictured now as part of the certificate verification process and it has been that way for two to three years now.

Sorry, I was thinking of the customer requesting photos sent to him/her and not about the database.

NGC photographs every coin that is sent to them , although the pictures are lower quality than if a submitter pays for the photo certification .They do use better quality for customer photos.
