Yeah has a lot of little bag marks but not really more than any of my 62/63 really I think the camera brought everything out .There not that noticeable by eye . I have 9 other graded Au Morgan’s and this one has the least marks except maybe than my 58 1897 but this coin looks nicer to me . Maybe just the toning trying to get pics with less lighting glare
Agreed about what the camera can see. It brings out a LOT of features that you don't see in-hand except maybe with a loupe.
Keep in mind that for 84-S grades are never generous. Given the huge price jump in MS grades, TPGs tend to be very strict when giving them out. The borderline coin that you'd see in a 61 or 62 holder if it were an 85-O will be in a 58 or even a 55 holder as an 84-S. Yours may look nicer than some 55s you see, but you have to make sure you're comparing with other 84-Ss.
I was fortunate enough that my brother and I inherited 30 Morgan Silver Dollars. I have about 10 1921's, a 1921 D, and a 1921 S which I bought later for $250 from and estate. I also bought an 1881 S NGC-MS 63, an 1880 S NGC-MS 64. I also got a set called "The Wild West Collection", with an 1882 CC, 1883 CC, and an 1884 CC; all graded NGC-MS 65. Another coin that I got was the 1888. I know many that like toned coins, which the 1888 has and has a few small scratches. I'm curious how much more value a toned coin has.
Toning does add value today. A few years ago it didn't. The increase in value will depend on the date and mintmark and the color of the toning.
