Does anyone know what this is?

All I know is that this is some kind of military coin/pendant. I also have cuff links of these.

No idea. First thing I compared it with was the DUKE logo.

It's definitely not a coin, but what makes you think it is of military origin? Is there something on the back that we don't see?

It's a pentadecagon, I've seen many challenge coins with that shape. There's no way you can tell exactly what it is since the detail is gone. Here's one:
