I have an 1865 one that I'll try and dig out and post. I think they're neat, and I really want some silver ones though.
There are two styles. I hate the nickel ones, the design just seems to blah. Now I love 3 cent silvers on the other hand. Not my coin, but a BEAUTIFUL example.
Got a 1853 three cent piece. Would like to get more but they're not that cheap in better grades. I will post a picture when I take a photo of it.
I have the three different veriety's in the silver series and the nickel three-cent piece as well. I would have to go back to an old hard drive and pull the pictures for them. When I get a little time, I'll see if I can find them. They are either XF or AU grade for the silver pieces and MS for the nickel one. Those silver pieces must have had a tendancy to be misplaced or lost quite often. You could bend them in your hand they are so thin and small.
Only a couple, and I want MORE!! These fill a couple of my interests: retired coins and civil-war era coins.
There are a few collectors of three cent pieces around. I have a full set of the business strike trimes and the only nickel three cent I still need is the 1884.
I have 1- 1876 that I was going to put a hole in it for my "1876 Holed Type Set" less gold. It is too nice of a coin to put a hole in it. I'm still looking for one
My two - I got them when I was working on my "first year of issue" set. I've been tempted to work on a complete set of the 3 cent silvers.
Early and MS: And actually much scarcer especially in circulated grades since they only minted 21K and most of them seemingly were snapped up by collectors and never circulated:
I don't do US coins generally, but I have turned up a number of these in the last few years here in the UK. (Mostly lost in bags of mixed coinage - none cost me much.) All these are long since sold on:
This is the only trime I own. 1859. A couple of older low quality photos or scans. I don't recall which.
