I found eBay 271510255925 last night ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271510255925&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123 ), and quickly realized the coin had been expertly holed and repaired. This is a rather deceptively well done repair, justified by the rarity of the coin. I advised the seller that it would be most appropriate to disclose that fact in the listing, especially since the coin is not returnable. Unfortunately, I think I'm being ignored. I tried reporting this listing to eBay but, unfortunately, there appears to be no category for this situation. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a means of advising eBay about this listing? - Mike
First, you can report it to eBay all you want but unless you're one of their recognized authorities your report will have VERY little impact. But DO report it. If eBay receives multiple reports on the same item they MAY take action. Second, I don't see what tipped you off about the hole and repair. And I guess many (most) other won't either. Smart buyers will stay away because for a coin priced that high it should be slabbed. I do see doubling on several of the stars.
My issue, as it will be for anyone else trying to report this item, is that there doesn't seem to be a category for reporting this. I've written under Keyword Spamming, "No mention in listing that coin has been holed/repaired at 10:00. Even most dealers will miss this." Will the reports be given the time of day if they are submitted under categories not related to the nature of the problem with the listing? Inside of rim at 10:00 is slightly obround, denticles are irregular, and surface appears slightly out of plane on obverse. Difference in color is more evident on reverse than obverse. This was an excellent repair in my mind, and is likely to fool many eager buyers of this date. I already see one offer on this coin, and expect this coin to sell before eBay even reads any reports on this listing.

I zoomed in on the photos from ebay on my 'pretty good' monitor and just do not see anything that is circular enough to be a filled drilling. I don't see it but can't really comment on what you say unless you point it out. I would really like to be able to 'see' this. Would be a learning experience.
