I have had the same experience. Prices will be higher since Amazon charges more in fees (I believe 15%), but many items I have seen are significantly higher than on ebay.
The Saddle Ridge Hoard was one of the first major coin items I recall seeing on Amazon and they were all listed for high end prices.

NO - TOO expensive - same as them Idiots at Coin Vault - TOO expensive. Learn the price of coins/paper money - then go from there!!

You have to realize coin dealers that put their crap on Amazon are selling to make a profit off of the uninformed like you - read, look at what idiots are buying on Ebay - then bid what you want - and nothing more~!~

Not since they discontinued their auction site. :)

Too expensive, and I find it MUCH harder to search for what I seek than on eBay.

No. Why would I look on Amazon (who I am boycotting) for coins (when the only coins I've seen on there have been overpriced items geared towards the Littleton/HSN crowd?) There are probably a billion places I'd shop for coins BEFORE I'd give Amazon a second of my time.

All I have ever seen on Amazon, with the exception of the Saddle Ridge, was overpriced junk.

It is not all junk - but yes overpriced. I think as already mentioned they raise the prices to cover the amazon fee's. I have see a few dealers whose sites I search have coins listed on there - never really compared their site to amazons for prices.

I look on Amazon for books and occasionally DVD's. Just looked at coins when I saw this post and decided I won't bother looking at coins there again.

    And they were still overpriced.

It looks like the coin sellers on Amazon are there to hook the novice coin collectors who don't know coin values.

Despite the claims of some recent posters, Amazon is not a great place for coins.
