Does any one know about flying eagle cents?

image.jpg I recently bought a 1858 flying eagle cent. It was very worn but you could clearly see the date eagle ect on one side but on the other side it shows the word cent and has the surrounding design even though it is worn. The puzzling part is that the "ONE" is differently missing and it doesn't look to be worn off just a blank area.
Has any one seen this? Is this considered an error ? Would the ONE be stamped separate or been left off? I would have thought that it was worn off but the top part of surrounding design or wreath is there just worn and the area is blank. I am new to coin collecting and I am learning the way coins were made in that era. Can anyone help me with this?

A large pic of the reverse if you can . Maybe the die was filled with grease where the one was and wasn't transferred , but without a decent reverse pic it's all speculation .

Filled die is probably the best bet.

I agree with Rusty & Larry, most likely a greased die

I appreciate that you looked at it. I tried to get a closer picture and it has too bad of reflection from the flash on it so I'll try to do during the day. I didn't understand what a greased die was but at least I have somewhere to look. I am having a great time looking into the different coins I have bought. When I looked at this coin it was differently different from the pictures I have seen and didn't know where to look. Now I at least have a direction.
    Thanks again to all
