My grandma just sent me these coins and i'm just wondering if any of these are silver. U.S. Dimes: 1935 x7 1936 1937 1939 1940 D 1941 x2 1942 x3 1943 x2 1943 D x2 1943 S 1944 x2 1945 1961 JFK Half Dollars: 1964 X25 1963 x36 1961 x 28 1965 1966 1967 1968 1969 1963 U.S. Nickles 1936 X30
everything but the nickels have silver, the half dollars are 90% silver if they are 1964 and before and after that until 1970 they are 40% silver, all the dimes are 90% silver
All of the dimes are contain 90% silver. Any 1964 Kennedys Contain 90% silver. Any 1965-1970 Kennedys Contain 40 % silver. The halves you have that are 1963 are Franklins and are also 90% silver. The nickels are not silver If this is an accurate count, thats one nice grandma!
First let me start off by saying *SHAKES FIST!!!! DAMNNN YOU!!!* I wish my grandma would send me those! Second those are all great coins! the nickles are nice even if they are not silver! Congrats on the new coins! Send grandma a thank you card and tell her all your friends are very jealous
If I were you, I would ask another question, what is the grading of each coin and do they have mint marks? The years that you mention seem pretty common, but a good quality coin could gain you some serious value.
thanks so much guys. Phil Ham, most of them look uncirculated and are starting to tone a nice gold color. I am planing on saving them for a long time.
Based on silver selling at $17.35 an ounce you have a silver coin melt value of $609.00. Thanks to Grandma. - :hail:
